"I think it was approximately 1963, when I was about 13,  that my dad was doing a "summer season" variety show in an English seaside town.  I was rather forward for my age and had a fondness for the glamorous showgirls.  One in particular I had a big crush on... Elaine Taylor was 18 and I remember thinking she was the  sexiest girl I had ever seen.  Of course I was a kid and she didn't know I existed probably.  In 1970 she married Christopher Plumber and has one of entertainment's few long lasting relationships."
